Monthly Meeting and Auction , At Mike’s Ice House – 9:00 am

ACTIVE MEMBERS ONLY, MEMBERSHIP AVAILABLE AT EVENT ($ 20 THRU SEPT. 2021)
NO MASK…..NO SWAP MEET…..NO MASK…..NO AUCTION
I want to begin by stating some facts, starting with the COVID 19 pandemic along with the annual flu season. There are now 168,700 confirmed cases and over 2,300 deaths in Harris County alone. One member of our club we heard from tonight has a relative seriously ill with COVID 19. This pandemic is far from over, and is predicted to worsen as the regular flu season kicks in. The spread of this virus can be contained by following some simple rules – if we all just practice them!
[1] Avoid large crowds and observe distancing.
[2] Wash / sterilize your hands.
[3] WEAR A FACE MASK! We know how this virus spreads and if we all practice these precautions, we can prevent the spread of this terrible disease to ourselves and family.
We all want to have fun and are looking forward to a fun time on Saturday with a swap meet and an estate auction with some very nice items – a small sampling can be seen on our web site at www.hvra.org. Tuesday evening, the HVRA Board of Directors mandated that all who participate in the November 14th event, including the swap meet and the auction, MUST WEAR FACE MASKS. The motion to enact this was passed by a unanimous vote. Anyone who refuses to abide by the mask order, will not be allowed to participate in these events, and will be asked to leave. We have one HVRA family member now suffering from COVID 19 – and we don’t want anymore!
Now that you have heard from us, let’s have a fun and safe swap meet and auction on Saturday. We have a great collection of auction items including donations currently stored in the HVRA storage facility as well as HAM gear from the Molina Estate. Yes! This is also an opportunity to bring your own items for auction….please register with Ric and make sure that your auction slips are properly completed with name, seller number, lot number, minimum bid and description (you can also download the auction slips from www.hvra.org). No sold or passed items will be allowed to leave the premises until after the entire auction is completed and settlement is made with the treasurer. We are planning for the pre-auction review area to be inside Mike’s Icehouse. See Bill or Derek that morning for details.
So, come on down, enjoy the party, and enjoy a great chili lunch. Mike’s Icehouse is located at 8746 Lipan Rd., directly behind Electronic Parts Outlet, 3753 Fondren Rd., Houston, TX.
Swap meet starts at 9 AM in the rear parking lot of EPO. Chili lunch at 11 AM, and auction will start at NOON inside and around Mike’s Ice House. Door prize drawings will be held during lunch for some nice gift certificates from EPO. Bring your masks, maybe some hand sanitizer, some spending money, and enjoy the day at the Ice House and Beer Garden. You may find the buy of a lifetime on Saturday and still avoid the flu!

IF YOU READ THIS, AND ARE FEELING THE COOL MORNINGS NOW, DON’T TEAR YOUR CLOSET APART LOOKING, BLAME YOUR SPOUSE, ETC. I WILL BRING BOTH TO THE SWAP MEET ON SATURDAY FOR YOU TO HAVE AND HOLD.
